anyone know advantages/disadvantages of coffee? I drink a lot of it everyday seems as though I cannot get enough of it. Is this good, bad? Opinions appreciated.

Anything in excess is bad, but a few cups of coffee a day shouldn't be a problem. It's when you get up to a few pots a day that it'll start to really stain your teeth and can affect your blood pressure.

Disadvantages of coffe: Acidic (hard on stomach) and high in caffeine(diuretic). Your muscles need water and too much caffeine will dehydrate you.

I prefer tea, lower caffeine than coffee plus the added health benefits. The polyphenols in tea contain up to 30 times the antioxidant potency of vitamins C and E.

tea doesn't seem to help me wake up in the morning like coffee. I drink about 4-8 cups a day. Unhealthy? I still keep my water in the 1-11/2 gallon range. is there a coffee that is better for you like shadegrown or something similar?

Marshall, sorry I don't know anything about other types of coffee. When I switched from coffee to tea it took a couple of weeks to get used to the change in caffeine amounts but in the long run I think it was worth it, cuz now when I do drink something with high caffeine content it is a real boost in energy, where when I was drinking coffee I needed the caffeine just to stay normal, no boost from it.

don't drink coffee myself. once in a rare while when I have to study or drive long distance or something. but I'm sort of a all-natural foods person and I don't take any form of stimulant substance hardly ever. rarely drink soda pop as well.
