Just thought I would let everyone know I just became the NAS Nebraska state chair for strongman. I am very excited about this and have already planned my first show July 14, 2007. The sanctioning was sent in and the entry form will be up in a month or two. I will be donating most of the proceeds to Camp CoHoLo here in Omaha, Ne. It is a camp for kids 6-17 with cancer or a blood disorder. There are no paid employees, just volunteers, so all the money will go to helping the kids.
Put this date on your calendars, as this will be a great show for a great cause. More info the closer we get.

Congrats DJ! I would like to come to that one. We'll see, it's a year out still... I'm sure you will promote the sport well in Nebraska!

Eric - Yes, I am the 100% RAW PL chair also. Gotta start preparing for the future when this old body doesn't want to cooperate anymore.

Seriously though, I hope to start a great tradition of strongman here in Nebraska. I want to keep the events different and exciting and keep the kids charity involved. I am also working with Shawn Baier on a NE/IA strongman later in 2007.

Charity events are always an awesome idea!

OK, so in Sun City South Africa, they had the "Africa Stone Carry".
In China, they had the "Ding Carry".

In Nebraska, I'm sure we can think up some new events that involve corn!!!

I GOT IT!!! Use the Silver Dollar DL apparatus that has a steel basket on each end, and fill those baskets with corn! Don't change the weight for each lift, just make it for reps.

THE CORN DL FOR REPS!!!!
