How did this guy get so massive and defined as a strongman? I mean he's got well in my opinion one of the most admirable physiques around. Strongman isn't exactly meant for definition like that is it? He's one of the very few. I'm just wondering what he's doing different than others to get that way. I realize it has alot to do with genetics and I'm comparing myself to one of the best in the world lol but that's not really what I'm getting at. I'm just curious how hes that frigging massive and defined while training for strongman?

Was probably born more like an Athlete than a "Strength Athlete" compared to the others. Maybe spent more time paying attention to his diet...etc...
If the guys from the NFL ever decide to do Strongman...EVERYONE will be in trouble.

yeh i'd say its got alot to do with his diet, and he does alot of cardio too, which would burn most of the fat, like skipping at the end of each workout and goin for middle distance runs like 3 times a week. and he does martial arts. so lots of cardio and a good diet. but look at ronnie coleman too, he's not weak. 760lbs deadlift for 4 reps then 800lbs for 2. 200lbs DB of flat bench for 12 reps and 800lbs squat for 2 reps and all those are just with knee wraps and a belt. no suit  . i reckon if he concentrated on powerlifting he'd go unreal.

Coleman wore a squat suit when he done 800lb squat for 2 reps! and his form is terrible on most lifts!

IMO Mariusz is big,but hes not as massive as he appears to be on t.v.I think he looks so big because of his definition. For instance if you ever go to a bodybuilding competition in person and see the guys on stage they look huge, then when you are next to them, alot of them dont look nearly as big.As for how did he get that massive and defined as a strongman...basically anyone could have the look of a bodybuilder and be a strongman competitor depending on their diet, training etc.I think it would be harder to do that, and still be a top level strongman, but Mariusz pulls it off well.

I've heard Mario is banned from WSM for awhile for some reason.

If were talking definition plus piles of strength Jon Anderson takes that cake.

Jon is bigger......At our Nationals this year Mariusz was there - he's good sized and I'm sure he was smaller then at Worlds or some other big show - but still he's not that big. Very small joints - kind of like Ahola was.......but if you've ever had the chance to be around Jon - that is one large very ripped individual!!.......and he looks like that all the time. His diet is just stupid - he never takes a day off!
Jon came down and trained with Willie and I right before the K.C. Pro/Am and he was 308lbs and just ridiculously shredded!!!..WOW!

And how many people do you know that train harder than he does? Hmmm...maybe there is a trend.
I'm trying to learn from these guys...others can hate if they want to.

hopefully Jon Andersen will do as well at the events as Mariusz has too. An American on the podium at WSM would be cool.

Marius was an olympic boxer at age 18 I beleive. He is a skilled martial artist and very active outside of the weightroom. I've watched him do several standing back flips the day after a heavy contest. He is a true athlete. Why be surprised that he is 'ripped'? Since when is fat EVER performance enhancing? most guys don't have a clue abut proper nutrition.

Mariuz definitely has it together as far as being a well rounded athlete. He obviously believes nutrition plays an important role as well. I would love to hear about his training. From the clips I've seen he's definitely a machine in the gym.
Imagine if someone from the board got to work out with Mariuz and then wrote an article about it for us to read about here on the site somewhere.....

Go to http://www.pudzian.pl there is an english version of his workout, diet, and training routines. I don't think I could ever train with him as I would be dead about 2 minutes into it.

As far as training some of the guys from Irongodz.com trained with him and had some clips! Pudzianowski did tri push downs with all the weight on the machine! And his 405 jerk press is amazing.

Yeah, he appears to be very athletic. I was watching a training video of him where he was jump roping, he bounces around on his feet like he weights 5 lbs. Heard he's kind of arrogant though...
