I got testicular issues!

Ok, just fire off all the jokes now so we can move on....

Anyway; for about a week my right one has just ached with a little pain in the lower abdomen. I haven’t taken any hits down there it doesn’t hurt when I cough or sneeze. Just a steady ache and a little sore to the touch. (Yes, I touch them a lot)

Anyone got any ideas???

Does it feel like it's between the testy and your abdomen wall?

Take Motrin and lay off for a couple days. If it dosen't subside see your Doc.

Just go to the doc. Friend of mine was diagnosed w/ testicular cancer after having some hardness and pain to the touch w/ one of his testicles. He's fine after a couple surgeries and some treatment, but go to the doc.

No. It's just a little sore and the ache feels like I took a light hit.

Mick-

There's a ton of things it could be. If you have pain or bulging when you cough hard it could be a hernia. If it's in the testicle itself and sore "sometimes" it could be a hormone thing. If it's hard and consistently painful, that's not good.

Hernia perhaps?

Hey Mick; long time-
I've got my dollar on the start of an inguinal hernia. I had a double repair when I was young. Started getting the same symptoms you've got again every once in a while this last year. Went to a Doc because I was I was afraid it might be the big bad one, but he had a look and said that one side is just starting to bulge, but it's nothing to worry about until/unless there is a breach. He said that it's from and complicated by weight lifting and extreme diaphragmic pressure. Regardles, you need to get checked out. You've got a few years on me and are at a higher risk for testicular cancer. Do it ASAP; you'll feel that much better that much sooner.

Yeah, I guess I'll "turn my head and cough".

Did you have another kid???????

I see you got off your ass and got some equipment. Bout time....

Been reading the forum for about a month now and really enjoying it, but went ahead and registered today as I know a little about your problem. I had the same pain that you are describing after lifting an opponent in a wrestling match. Turns out the the testicle had twisted and compromised the blood supply temporarily. Mine corrected itself but kept me off the mat for about 2 weeks and when I returned I still was sore and had to wear a cup for the last 2 weeks of the season. It would probably be worth it to have it examined as sometime they have to be untwisted but I think that it would become more swolen if the problem persisted.

I agree with going to the doctor.

Sounds to me like it is either hernia or testicular torsion as Michael Lantz described. But, when it comes to stuff like this it is best to get it checked by a doctor and not try and diagnos yourself through the internet.

I had this same disorder when I was a teenager - and had to have surgery to correct it, but it was because I had a Vericacele(sp) hernia (or Intra-scrotal torsion)... and if you have this pain much more after wrestling, doing situps, or anything else that causes your beanbag to fill with blood - I had to take ice baths to get rid of the pain.

Holy crap Mick, I just figured out the irony of your situation. Allow me to provide some humor.

Team Big Sac's #1 member has an enlarged sack! You should keep your engorged scrotum as the team mascot. Put a hat on it and show it off at contests. Soon, it'll look like you got Dan Harrison in a leg lock, what with all the bloating, high blood pressure, and hair.

More equipment and more kids. I've been accumulating both since we moved up here last year. I've actually got quite a bit of stuff now. There was nobody with equipment to train with around here (Sequim is a 5+ hour round trip) is so I had to become "that guy". Now I just need to find some locals to train with.

Hope it turns out to be okay!

I gave myself a scare with some pain in the sac this week, but I remembered that I whacked my junk about 6 times during a high-rep set of shrugs and that pretty much explained why I was feeling pain for a few days afterward...

If it persists and isn't getting better fairly quickly, definitely get it checked out.

Two words, Testicular Tortion, as mentioned above. I had it happen to me when I was much younger and my left nut was the size of a grapefruit, well at least a large orange. Anyway, laid up in the hospital for a day or two and it corrected itself. They had my feet up and gave me some meds, but it worked itself out.

Best bet, go to the doc. My doc was like, "Umm, no thats not normal." and went ad called a surgeon. All I could think about was being a teenager and only having one nut. Luckily it all worked out and both of my boys are all good.

Ok that's Funny! I think I will re-name my balls.... "Daniel" and "Harrison".

Maybe the laughter helped out. I check "Harrison" over real well and he seems to be in good shape. The discomfort was not nearly as bad today so maybe it working it self out. Hopefully by Saturday (contest day) I'll be good to go.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips. Good to know I'm not alone with my nut pain.

Epidydimitis. See your doctor... You will need and antibiotic: cipor 1 ime a day for 7 days. Use Ibuprofen or naprosen as directed. Wear supportive undergarments.

Thanks for all the advice. Pretty scary advice but thanks all the same. Dan and Harrison are feeling much better. The pain just kinda went away on its own. But if for some reason it comes back I'll go see the Doc.

Thanks again!

if you twist a testicle severely enough, does it become a twisticle?
