So, as I've finally got my training back on track again after a variety of poor excuses, I thought I might set myself a goal.

There are damn few interesting comps for LWs over here in Scotland, but I've set myself some slightly (read: VERY) high targets to hit for next summer(-ish) with the aim of doing an under-105kg contest. Gives me something to aim for I figure.

As I'm also planning to do some travelling in the US of A next year, I figured I may well combine the two and see if I can't make a fool of myself in a light-weight competition whilst I'm over.

Here's the question - as a visitor from outwith the US, looking to do only one competition, and as were very much a novice, which would you suggest I look at?

Location isn't really a factor as you're all bloody miles away (that's a technical measurement used by us Scots for any distance over 1000 miles).

Hit me!

my first competition was Stronger Than All in New Haven, Connecticut in April. The people who put it on are awesome, as are the competitors. I had a great time and did well. Also, New Haven is close to both New York City and Boston if you wanted to do a little visiting as well. It's also not far from Maine, the best state on either side of the pond.

TheMassachusetts State Championship is a pretty good show, they have a novice division as well as a ami LW and HW division....

I think your going to get alot of suggestions like this, dont think ppl are going to say " hey dont come here, are show sucks) lol

Best bet is to check out The north Amercian Strongman Society website they post all of the events around the USA. However they might not post next years contest for a little while.

Yeah, that's a fairly valid point. Heh heh...

Thanks for the suggestions anyway. Keep 'em coming if anybody has any more.
