We've made it to Sanya. Everyone is here minus Josh and Kevin who's flights were late and caused them to miss their last fights. As if normal travel to get here isn't hard enough! They;re troopers though and will be fine I'm sure.
This resort is quite possible the most beautiful place in the world. The pool wraps around the whole hotel and we've got steps down to it just 10ft from our room. The ocean water is the warmest I've ever felt. I'll see if I can upload some pictures. I know this place has a web site so maybe some one can post it if they know it or i'll try to track it down.
Everyone is massive. I know there are many athletes who aren't here, but even without many great names, we've got an impressive feild to say the least. Everyone is filled out. Phil is massive and really looking the part. Raivis, who is in my prelims weighs 135, up from 125 last year. He will make the finals I'm sure... Karl is an alternate and though I wish no harm or ill fortune to anyone else, it would be so awesome to see him compete. He is huge and ripped and feeling very healthy and fit as well.
I weighed in at 147kg this morning.
Time for dinner rehearsal...

Great to see you're weighing so much more than 286 (?) a few months back. I didn't like the fact that I weighed as much as you! Go hard man.

Wow ... 147kg, that's some serious beef.
Best of luck to you and everyone competing ... may your lifts be huge and your injuries be absent!

Dave that stood out to me as well. It seems like it was only a couple months ago he was in the mid 280's trying to get shredded as hell (probably for the MTV thing huh jesse! haha). In any event, I'm damn impressed and know its all due to his freaky work ethic and ability to shovel all that damn health food down his mouth.

I got down to 282 for a photo shoot. i was 290 the next day and 302 two weeks later. though i am heavy I feel good. as Raivis would say, ''I have good shape. My condition is good.'' My wind is very good right now. As Jared can attest I have been training quite hard, 11-14 times per week. And yes, I have been eating to the point of extreme discomfort.
I trained on the equipment today. The heat is unreal. The humidity is killing me too. Lucky for me the pool is right outside my door... The stone carry (100kg) for 25m and drag back 25m is going to be a very hard event. Dropping the stone will result in ZERO points... ouch! The keg toss will be fun I think. 8 kegs tossed over a wall for best time. This event is good for David and I, although Raivis is very fast so I think he can throw. The fingal fingers is no problem for any in our group except for the Chinese athlete, Gu. The car deadlift will be set at 300kg and the bar will be in front. Raivis will win, Dave will be 2nd. The keg load will be good for the taller and faster guys I think. We will have to carry the kegs through water. I still beleive Raivis will make the final. So the other spot is between Dave, Terry and I.
I met Mark Felix for the first time. Wow he is freaky huge. His hands are nearly as big asa Phisters!
Josh and Kevin arrived last night and are in good humor. Both look to be in peak condition.

Of course that means...
...his gloves are nearly as big as Pfister's as well.
