I tried to search for this as I remember it being asked before, but I got no results. Are there any strongman gyms in Seattle? Or even just a good gym with some equipment, like bumper plates and a log or something. I have a huge break in my school schedule on Wed, so I figure that would be a good time to lift.
Thanks!

You have the Sequim Crew north of you, and Team Vantucky down south of you. :)

D'oh! Called out in my own thread. I suppose if I am going to try to do this strongman stuff I might as well get some training in on the actual imlpements.
Team Aberdeen- first, call Ryan tomorrow.
Team Vantucky- Whenever I get a hankering for Portland I will see if we can get some training in.
Team Florida- your country is too hot for my northern blood even your winters at night are enough to make me melt.
Team Aberdeen, Scotland- if I ever make it to Europe I will give you a call, you can translate scottish into english for me! :B:

Or you can come over and train with me in Poulsbo. I have one steel log and some tires. I am getting some bigger ones. I dont' have a stone. I use two horseshoe shaped curl bars for farmers carry. I made a mickey mouse viking press using my tires and a 20 ft 8 x 4 beam as the post for it.I tried to search for this as I remember it being asked before, but I got no results. Crossfit North near the U-District has a shitload of bumbers and a couple Eleiko bars. I think they have a small tractor tire and some sandbags, but I've never seen anyone use them in the 2 years I've worked out there. They are very much into "functional" training though , so maybe they'll let you do strongman stuff there. Here's their website with contact info: http://www.crossfitnorth.com/contact_us.htm
I train there with a group of olympic lifters in the evenings, we have a small sort of informal club there.

We are in Puyallup and have stones and loading platform, farmers, a tire, thick bars, two lifting platforms, kegs, and bumpers. You are welcome to train with us. Give me a holler if you're interested and I can let you know when I'm there. E-mail is rainiercrossfit@comcast.net and phone is 253-686-9994.
