I am really interested in beginning to train some events, but am not aware of anyone training strongman in my area. I live in the harrisburg area, but would be willing to travel a bit...

Dan,
Where in the Harrisburg area do you live? We train in Chambersburg, PA about an hour south of Harrisburg. We train Sundays.
Hey Steve what's new with IronSport? Met you down at the NJ show this year. We're trying to get some time to come out and train with Kirk and the crew. Maybe try and push his a$$ a little.

Thanks guys...
My brother lives close to philly, so I guess I could visit him and check out Iron Sport...awesome website by the way. Great looking gym! How much is a day pass?
I am on the West Shore - New Cumberland. Yes, Chambersburg is about an hour from me. It seems like everyone who I talk too has to drive an hour to train events. It's that dedication I guess. I'd love to look you up in a couple weeks (i'm in the moving process)
What time do you guys start on Sundays and are you open to a newbie - probably weak in comparison but I work my heart out.?
Thanks again,
Dan

Dan, we usually start around 11 am on Sundays and go for about 3-4 hours depending on the day. The palce is easy to find about a mile from 81. Don't worry about the weights if your just starting out. We have lighter stuff for beginners. I'd rather work with guys with lots of drive than the lazy, talented ones. Heart is half the game in this sport.
Steve, glad to hear all is going well. I'd like to try to slip out that way after Nationals. Make sure you give Kirk a little rabbit punch from me. Lord knows I'm not going to do it in person!!!

Hey Adam,
I don't know if we'd be close enough to your travel route or not. State college is about 2.5 hours north west of us. I drive there for work several times a month. Are you coming from DC area around Graham? Let me know which directions you're taking and I'll look at the map. Unfortunately there really is no direct route from us to State College. Let me know when your headed up this way. How is Graham?
Joe

Chambersburg is way more than an hour by 81, I just moved from The Colonial Park Area in Harrisburg and I lived in Shippensburg so I have a real good knowledge of the area.

George -
How long would you say that it is? It can't be much more than an hour...maybe another 15 or 20 minutes. Unless you are carrying implements :T:
Do you still live in the area?

Now that I think about it it would be about an hour unless you had bad traffic on 81 in HBG I was thinking of Greencastle which is past Chambersburg. I would say it would be a true 70 minutes. No I moved from Colonial Park to Delaware last year.
