And also Fire/Police Nationals. I was going to compete but decided to get my ass prepared for LW Nationals next month.

Go Fireman and Policeman. But mostly fireman. :D

I wish especially good luck, health, and strength to a pair of the best training partners in the state of Florida, Tom Mitchell and Tom Roman. I can guarantee that both of them are going up there with an "A" game.

Good luck everyone. Stay safe and have PRs. I know the guys from KCSTRONGMAN will not need luck, as they are prepared. Dean, I wish you could be there to defend your title. How is the bicep?

Master Light 50 plus, 1st, Roger Ortmayer.

I just had to brag a little for my father, he's the only one with the guts (or insanity) to compete over 50!! At 60 years young that's true "old man" power!
I think he still took 4th or 5th in the overall Master's LW too. Frankly speaking, he had a badass performance!

Hell yeah! Roger is a badass! I can only hope to be in that condition at 60 years young! He is a real inspiration! He those events look easy!

Friday at noon I found a scale and weighed in at 234.5 so I had 4 hours to loose 3.5 lbs. I soaked in a hot tub and spit in a cup to try and dehydrate myself as much as possible. I went down at 4pm and in my boxer I weighed in exactly at 231. I chugged a quart of milk and a quart of Gator Aid. Went to Applebee’s and got that same chicken and rice thing (good pre-contest dinner)
Saturday I felt real good. My only competition was a young Marine, Chris Perdue. I new he would not be easy to beat just by looking at him. (He looks like a young Marine…..)

Max Axle – Opened with 230 – Second 250 – for first place. I thought of going for 280 on my third just for a pr but I decided to save my juice.

Frame – 540 for 50’ - pretty easy. Got it done in 10 seconds for another first place. Not fast but fast enough.

600 tire / ??? Sled for 50/50 – First two or three flips felt real easy. I could tell I was going to set a good time. Then RIP!!!! I felt my right calf give. I tried to flip again – no joy. So I finished the last 3-4 flips on one leg. Tried to make up time on the drag as it didn’t cause any additional pain but I was to slow.

Iced the calf for about 30 mins – put some topical ibuprofen, heat rub and wrapped it tight with a knee wrap. ( I was still in 1st so I couldn’t quit)

Power stairs 350 x 9 steps, going up was easy, getting back down was not. Not sure my time but it was slow.

Keg load – got it done in 17 seconds but the Chris got it done in 15.8 or something like that.

Long story short: First place looser…

The plane ride home sucked I had to haul ass to get my connection which did my calf no good. I can hardly walk on it. I’m going to see the doc tomorrow as the swelling continues to get worse even with ice/Motrin/elevation.

As always; I met some great guys that I hope to see again. I got to see Jason Adamski nail a 310 axle for a new record and come very close to 325. Roger Ortmayer is a real inspiration. I enjoyed watching the Masters (get to see what I’ll be up against soon) ha ha. I got to meet Travis – yeah he looks like he can load a 500+ stone.

You did a good job hanging in with the injury. Most would not have finished.

Saw some tough competitors. Good time. Great show.

Jason did 315 actually.

Roger should have competed in the 40 and over. Would have been in the mix for sure!

Everybody was great and an amazing amount of helping each other.

And, great job Tim. Competing in two contest in one weekend (winning McPherson) all with an obvious (the bruise on his thigh is huge) muscle tear in his leg. You are a real ironman!!!
