I talked to Phil this morning and told him about all the support on Jesse's site. Phil rarely gets on a computer so he asked if I could pass on a few words for him. I didn't take notes but I do remember most of the things he said. So, in a nutshell.......


"I just wanted to express my thanks for your support, thoughts, kind words and prayers throughout my competitions this year. This win still doesn't seem real- it just hasn't sunk in yet! I am proud that the title of the World's Strongest Man is back in America's hands. It was such an experience to compete with these amazing athletes- the likes of Jesse Marunde (whose speed and strength are just unbelievable). I look forward to continuing this journey, and again, am so grateful for your continued support!"

I love that a man who has been doing Strongman for a long time has made his way to the top of the pile.

I hate that Jesse didn't qualify this year but he is also a young man and will dominate as the years go by so it's great to see Phil get his place in the spotlight.
