First off I have always had some shoulder pain the duller type on one shoulder or the other, I also have crunchy rotator cuffs from the early years of being stupid. So this is new pain. While flat benching, doing my warm ups, with very little weight, both shoulders had shooting pain in them. The pain was on top off the shoulder where the delts hook to the shoulder and a little to the rear of the very top of the shoulder. This pain was a piercing, stabbing pain pretty equal on both sides. Because it is so different and came out of the blue a think it maybe temporary. However it does not hurt to the same extreme when I do inclines. Thanks.

You may be experiencing some type of impingement where various tendons/bursa get pinched between your acromion bone (the bone that hooks over the shoulder) and the ball of your shoulder joint. Although the pinching usually occurs during rotation, what you're describing sounds like impingement to me... I'd definitely lay off the flat bench, it's pretty nasty for shoulders, and maybe doing shoulder exercises altogether if you're still hurting. Give 'em a rest, they are easily overworked.
