Andy Bolton deadlifted 1,003 pounds today at the WPO Semi-Finals in Lake George, New York. That makes Bolton the first person to ever deadlift over 1,000 pounds and bumps his all-time record deadlift up from 971 pounds.
Hell yeah!

Flabergasted ... Hats off to that. He broke the universal mind block. I believe it will be lifted again now that it's in the realm of possibility.

That is sick. I have a buddy that went up there this weekend, he said that the level of competition is just unreal.

Rule of thumb is that you'll have a video after about 2 days, maybe tomorrow in this case.

Jeff Everson- editor of the magazine 'planet muscle' --and the now defunct 'speed strength & sport'magazine offered a $5000 bounty for first man to deadlift 1000# and another $5000 for first man to clean and jerk 600#
