But I have my fiance's parents comingwith us. so its going to be me, my fiance, her mom and dad plus her 18yr old sister. We all tried to sit down the other day and watch it on hbo but a few things made the room very ackward and it shortly after we turned it on, it was off... They all are really cool though but i hope it doesnt get to ackward haha

I would back out if at all possible unless you absolutely know they will enjoy it. I thought the film was hilarious. I was laughing so hard, I was missing stuff. At one point, I almost puked from laughing. It is this point in the movie you must be made aware of-I'm sorry for anyone else, do not read this- at one point in the movie, Borat gets into a naked wrestling match with his obese partner. There is masturbation, male nudity, crapping into plastic bags, crapping in public, brutally making fun of mental illness, severe anti-semitism and openly homosexual acts. There are definitely more potentially offensive jokes i am missing here, so be warned.
I would be very careful about who I took to this movie. I don't think my girlfriend would like it, I know my parents woudn't, and I certainly wouldn't take hers either.
I would also like to repeat that this movie is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Here is the league it is in as far as theater experience-Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, Scary Movie, and Team America.

The wrestling match I'm talking about certainly falls into this category. If I say anything else, I will be execute.

actually the only other person who actually wants to see this movie is her dad... Come to think about it, my fiance isnt to happy about going either.... and i know her dad definitly wont be like'n anything gay or sexual so it should be interesting.... I actually think it will make it a funnier experience unless they are seriously offended

I laughed so hard I was crying!
The more I think about it though, the more I think there is no way on Earth I would ever consider watching it with a girlfriends parents.

Hysterical. The only people who don't think so are the ones that just won't admit it.

WOW! I can't wait to find out how this turns out. I am impressed by your nerves of steal. I think that would be a good movie in itself, watching you all together watching Borat. I wonder who is going to sit next to you?
For those of you who have watched this movie how does it compare to Jacka@@ two?
When I lived in Europe ALI G was the most famous DJ. I had no idea he was so funny, until I saw his show.

I did indeed go last night to see Borat with my fiance and her parents......
An hour into the film my fiance and her mother walked out...... lol haha
her dad and i thought it was pretty funny but we were kinda forced to leave as well.... Up to the point that we left i thought it was really funny but not as funny as i thought it might be. But still very funny, i especially liked the part where he was try'n to act like a "chocolate face" and he called that white guy vinella face,,,,
As far as the fiance and the mother in law was concerned... Little by little through out the movie they got more and more repulsed. I thought all the bad stuff was over because they had the seen in the beginning of him wrestling with the gay guys and i thought that was the naked wrestling part that you all warned me about.... So i thought it wasnt that bad. Then a few other parts came up, picture of the naked boy and everything and little by little they hated it more..... the finally! the naked wrestling part with the fat guy...
Well the naked wrestling started and they both got up and walked right out.. her dad and i stayed but Catherine (my fiance) came back into the theatre to get us....
what happenend in the end lol

My stomach hurts from laughing too much! THe scene where the manager and BOrat wrestle naked, through a hotel and onto a convention stage is one of the most disturbing/disgusting things I have ever seen. Yet it is every bit as funny as it is disgusting.

I thought that scene where he went to the hotel with his pants pulled down his pants and was try'n to act like a homedawg... When he was like "whats up vinella face. was probaly the funniest part of the whole movie... But then again I DIDNT GET TO SEE THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!!!

the funniest part of the movie was when he went to the humor coach and he told the guy that "my sister show him (his retarded brother in the cage) her vagine, and she says, 'you'll never get this, you'll never get this!'"

YA THAT WHAT PRETTY FUNNY TOO BUT HANDS DOWN IT GOES TO THAT HOTEL SCENE THAT I MENTIONED EARLIER.... ALSO WHEN HE BROUGHT THE BAG DOWN FROM THE BATHROOM..
sry bout the caps, im at work but i heard today that some college kids from a frat house put a law suit against him... I guess the part that i missed, he hooked up with some college kids and they are the one's that put the lawsuit in.... Something about they acted the way they did under false circumstances or something

Yup, from the Guardian website -
"The students claim the film's producers found them in their frat house and loosened them up with alcohol before getting them to sign an agreement to take part in a documentary-style film that would only air in Europe.
They claim that footage of a prolonged drinking scene with Borat in which they make misogynistic and racist comments are defamatory. They seek an injunction to stop the studio from displaying their image and likeness, along with unspecified monetary damages."
Defamatory? You make comments on camera, and you can sue somebody else for the comments... that.... you... made?
Wow.

Saw it last night. I have been wondering ever since if that last scene wth Pamela Anderson was set up or not. Cause she seemed so surprised and scared shitless to have that bag put over her. And then the security really put the beat down on him like they were not in on it. Anyone have info on that? I'm sure she's had some really crazy stalkers before.

Just watched it last night with the wife and we both laughed so hard we hurt after the movie. I have heard the only "real" actors in the movie were him and the producer. So from Pamela's reaction I think she really didn't know who he was or what he was going to do.
