I was wondering if anyone could tell me what degree of bicep tears you can have? Are there different ones? I developed a pain in my lower right bicep approx 1-1 1/2months ago after flipping my small 500lbs tire for cardio. I still have it and it doesnt seem to be getting any better. It doesnt affect my training too bad, but it hurts when I flex my arm and during some gym movements. Any thoughts???

Chances are you have biceps tendonitis. Lay off the movements that hurt it for a couple of weeks entirely and it should go away. If you are extremely concerned about it, go to the doctor for an appropriate diagnoses...

It's those shitty bars you use at the gym. Is there discoloration? Maybe go see a massage therapist and get some deep tissue done in your arm.

Make sure to use the muscle rub and keep your arm covered when you train.

There is no discolouration, thats what confusing me and it doesn't feel like when I had my previous bout (or so I thought) of tendonitis. It almost feels like a strain or something? Also I found this pain to start after doing the small tire and not from the shitty gym bars.

You can strain a bi on loading events and tires easy if your not warming them up before hand, I try to do some high rep hammers before to get some blood flow to the bi.

Hey Dallas...its been awhile!

I have had what sounds like the same thing since just prior to dubreville. Still have it...Sucks...i too have been wondering if it could be a mild tear or something.

If i stay away from heavy log cleaning it seems to improve..but never goes away.

Might try the high rep curl stuff as well..see if it helps.

Hey,

I have a similar pain around the elbow that I believe extends from my Tricep originally and, as I continue a workout wraps around to my bicep. I have determined that I am mistaking this "bicep" pain to simply be elbow tendonitis. If you can rule out this then your best bet is to lay off whatever exercise causes the pain to flare. Remeber, muscle tissue heals but only if you let it. Also, as mentioned before, a muscle rub and a deep tissue massage can be particularly helpful!

I hope its not an arthritis type pain (burning, extreme discomfort) if this is the case then you may really want to see your doc.

My friend, I suffer from the same thing...I feel its a result of doing heavy curls...funny once i get going though the pain seems to lower.
