Today I was doing cleans and on one of my reps when I caught the bar in the racked position going down into a full squat I heard a loud snapping in my left wrist(over the radio even) and felt a painful popping sensation in my wrist next to the bone going to my thumb. Then it gave out on me and the bar slipped and fell down then bounced into my bed (lol). It has been about an hour and I have some Rom in my wrist but I cant bend it back or towards my thumb and everytime I touch my hand there is a sharp pain and a popping sensation along with feeling like my hand is sliding on my wrist. And the bone leading to my thumb aches. Anyone have anything similar happen to them or know what I did? I dont think anything is broken because I can still move it (somewhat) and it only hurts bad when I touch it or move it. What do you guys think I should do? Ice, Ibuprofein and just stabalize the joint?

If it doesn't go away, I'd advise you to see a doc and have it looked at.
When I was 13 years old, I broke me hand in a fight. (Yes, I was a naughty boy) It hurt, but I didn't think it was serious. I even continued to wrestle in a district league, and push on through the pain. After a couple weeks, we finally went to the doc and found out it was broken, and had to wear a cast for 6 weeks.
Get it checked out.

I think I may have broken my wrist 6-7 weeks ago after punching my stupid roommate in his head. That's another "storey", but the bottom line is i had about the same symptoms, and it's still bothering me. It still hurts to press at any angle, and crushing strength is almost nonexistant. 6 weeks ago! Do yourself a favor and get it checked out.

Maybe if you stopped juicing so much you would stop getting hurt so often!
Just kidding Pat. Not that I should have to say that...
My right wrist is killing me too right now if it makes you feel any better.

From a PT's point of view, get it checked out!
Considering there are 3 small bones leading to the thumb and several tendons that insert in that area, any of those structures could have been injured. I don't like the sound of your "hand slipping on your wrist," as it suggests instability which could be the result of tendon rupture or dislocation of one of the small bones.
The sooner you get it checked out and treated properly the sooner you get back to training. Please don't mess around with it or wait and see what happens.
