today an event occurred in jesse's life that probably would have kept most people out of the gym, at least for the day. he even admitted that for a split second, he was tempted to skip his workout today. instead, however, he came in and made progress. this is one of the reasons the sequim crew has had such great success. we seem to have a work ethic that is almost unmatched, a great facility, and most important the support of each other in every aspect of life. i was reminded of when a friend of mine died in 2005, and the next day i was greeted with huge support, from jesse especially. anyways, my heart goes out to jesse, i know that he'll bounce back quick, just wanted to give him props.

thanks Chris. A while back my son and I were given a Neopolitan Mastiff puppy by my wife for an early Christmas present. We named her Polly Pocket. Today I took her to the vet to get her ears cropped. 20 minutes prior to meeting the boys at the gym the vet called and informed me that Polly died from a heart attack on the operation table. So there I was nursing a tearfull family when it came time to train. It was hard for me to leave them. Truly my family has made too many sacrifices on behalf of my training regime to remember. I love them more than anyone will ever know. Though we are sad, we recognize that we have much to be thankfull for. We are blessed and I am gratefull that my life is full of many joys. One of my great joys is being a part of a fantastic crew of dedicated athletes who support me and make me stronger. Thanks guys. See you at the gym tomorow. Same time, same channel, as always...

Sorry to hear that Jesse, hope little man and the rest of the family are doing alright, pets become so much a part of the family it is like losing a person you were close to sometimes.
God Bless,

jesse that's why your the success that you are . not only are you driven to be the best, your dedication is second to none and your love of the sport from the preperation to the show is unmatched.
but you also have the dedication of a beautiful family and that's what makes a champion.
i won 7 world amateur armwrestling championships, i was'nt the strongest, the fastest, or the biggest, but because my wife was on board with me i was able to dedicate my life to that goal.
what you have is a beautiful thing, now get your ass to the gym and pay them back by winning the worlds strongest man.
[sorry to here about the dog, we just had to have the family pet put down a few months ago ,it's tough brother]
peace&love

It has always sounded like you and your family really love your dogs, and I know that when you lose one,it can hurt as much as losing a human family member.Being there for your family, and still training through hard times deserves alot of respect. Its why guys like me look up to you.

Losing a dog IS losing a family member.
You've got a great family and a great work ethic, both will help. Though our dogs lives' are but a fraction of our own, their memories live with us forever. Stay strong, man.

hey thanks everyone! we are feeling much better today. I don't like to draw attention to myself about matters such as this, especially on the forum because I want to portray a tough guy image I guess.... my 14 month old American Bulldog named Max died about 5 months ago so that is kind of making the loss of Polly a little harder. She was replacing Max in our family. Thanks again for your empathy it has really helped to cheer us up. We are a very happy family not prone to depression. So onward and upward! Always climbing, always gaining, never down for longer than is necesary!
