OK, this thread might get gross... we've all torn calluses, so show it off. Let's see it!
Geoff tore three of em off at once! knarly! This tear was featured on TV broadcast of the 2004 Nationals at the GNC Show of Strength in Atlanta.

Yeah Jesse, Geoff's tears are great. It is funny how excited he gets about his "new PR", tearing 3 callouses at one time, during his interview! :D

Here is my first torn callus. I did it while carrying a pair of heavy farmers(For me at least).

Tore the left hand on farmers, then proceeded to tear the right on duckwalk. The left has been a problem ever since...every time I deadlift I get deep blood blisters where it tore.

OK...keepin' an old thread alive here.
Here's a pic of my first wound from the frame. I was carrying a 600# frame for 50' in practice. At 45' it slipped out of my hands, which is when it tore my hand. The funny thing is, I never even felt it. I immediately picked it back up and finished the course. As I was stepping out of the frame, my buddy noticed my hand.
What really sucked was that this was at the beginning of our training session. We cleaned it, taped it, and finished training with Log, 18" DL, and Stones.
This pic was taken after I went home and cut the skin off.
Oh yeah...the next week, I made it the full 50' for the first time.

dang it i wish i would of had a pic from my tears form teen nationals. I tore the first three on my right hand onfarmers which was 200lbs which was sad cause its so light. Later i found that lighter farmers seems to tear my caluses easier then heavier, why i dunno. Then on power stairs i tore 2more on my left hand compensating for the right. It was an experience thats for sure

My buddy Greg Amidon has those beat. These are his hands after bending 100 Ironmind red nails. Greg doesn't suffer from mental issues - he enjoys them! I get a little gaggy when I see this pic, but here ya go.

You guys have to file those things down... if there is nothing for the bar to "grip", there is no callous to pull off... usually (sometimes it still happens, but not as often or as badly by far).
That being said, I have torn a few off, and I ripped a knuckle off when I bailed one side of a squat, when the plates slid off, my hand shot upward and got mashed between the J-Hooks and the bar:

that pic is awesome. I wish I had pics of my grandpas hands after we caught about 20,000 pounds of cod in one day on J-hooks. He got poked about a thousand times, then they all got infected. His hands were all black and swollen... But he kept working. That's how we role...

Geez, Clay. That pic reminded me of my own similar injury when I was a kid. I over did it on the monkey bars one day.

No question about it, Greg's a machine! A true bending freak and a genuine all-around nice guy. The one time I got out to train with him, he killed off a few reds while injured just to show me how it's done, even though his shoulder was apparently in bad shape. He definitely pushed me to new limits that day!

I was down as low as 221.5lbs, Pat. Now sitting at around 223-225. Room to bulk up and feel good, instead of feeling depleted. Just to exchange e-mails, guys, mine's: jamiemce@hotmail.com
