I read a story about that bear. Don't know if it was true or not though. Supposedly the bear was a man eater.

I beleive that the pic is of "the Giant" Dalip Singh.. he has done some pro wrestling in Japan and is rumored to be training for some MMA.. He has been billed at 7'4" 460 lbs.. but some educated estimates have him a legit 7'0" and 400 lbs.. still a house .. it will be interesting to see how big he really is as he is in "the longest yard" with some large men.. kevin nash, bob sapp etc..

here's another one of "Giant Singh". he's from India.
Eric Johnson
02-16-2005, 04:33 PM
Man he is huge. I didn't know that Bob Sapp is in the longest yard, I will have to see it now. I watched Bob in a mixed martial arts fight a while back and he is huge, when he hit his opponent, the opponent would move a few feet back each time, very impressive, except he got winded so fast he almost lost. I imagine Singh will be playing the part of the really tall dude from the original?
Jesse Marunde

I liked that movie.Tom Magee that competed in WSM was in it too.
Ryan Rhodes
02-24-2005, 10:48 PM
Stone cold was classic, but his other movies blew. Boz was a good player, He just had old man shoulders; He juiced away his body before he went pro. He was smart, too. He insured his contract with the Seahawks so when he finally had a reason to bail, he did and cashed out bigtime.

That picture of Dione is great. I had only met her for 2 seconds last year when I dropped a 250lb log from overhead (I didn't know any better) and she jumped in my face, screaming "CONTROL THE F---ING WEIGHT!!!" I was too stunned to continue! hahaha She seems like such a nice person when you're not abusing the equipment though :)

I met Giant Singh last fall, he's definitely over 7' and I'd put him an easy 440lb., but the most impressive thing about him was the size of his paws. The hand was twice the size of mine (literally), even more impressive, he was next to Bill Goldberg when I met him, and he dwarfted Goldberg too.

The first time I met Bill Goldberg, it was ringside at a wrestling event. He and some fatass (don't remember his name) were fighting outside the ring and I stood up so I could see how tall I was compared to him. I thought I was about equal in height. But I thought he looked bigger on TV so I was a bit disappointed. Second time I saw him was in Monterey across the street from a Subway and he was in street clothes. He looked HUGE.

You think so? I mean if anyone were to beat him in PRIDE right now it would have been Mirko IMO.. but I dont think he is the best ever. I think a really good match would be between him and Andrei Arlovski from UFC. Both are fantastic stand up fighters

Cool thing about Roger is, when I competed against him at 2004 Ntls. he could only load four stones, missing the fifth.
The next year, (10 months to be exact) in Salina, KS, he not only loads all five stones but but in 25 seconds, amazing progress.
My mother and wife say I am getting to the age (I'm 41) to start thinking about hanging it up. I said "you two are crazy, Roger is 58, hell, I've got at least 17 more years to go".

I know so many guys at the gym that are in their early 30's telling me how they can't train heavy anymore because of all the injuries and they aren't kids anymore etc.... I've known most of them since when they first started and they never trained heavy to begin with. This Tyler, a friend from Church. This guy has the most unreal toe strength I have ever seen. I have witnessed him pick up a baseball, 3 pinched together 5 pound plates, 1 10 pound plate, and I have seen him pick up a bible and toss it a few feet; all with his toes!! Seriously, this guy has some sick toe strength.
This picture is of him pinching 3 5 pound plates.

Great, now I'm going to be barefoot and chalking up my toes within the hour! Not that it matters, but why does he do this? Is he a martial artist or something? I know strong toes help you plant yourself firmly on the ground and assist in grappling and striking.
DaneGarreau
02-27-2006, 03:53 PM
He just has the abnormal ability to do almost anything you can do with your hands(throw a ball with accuracy, write, is there a such thing as toe wrestling, etc) This is just a byproduct of him always reaching his toes out and pinching people and we came up with the idea of him trying to do something actually useful like toe pinching haha.

Jamie
Looks to be about 1/2 head taller than Undertaker, who I believe is a legitimate 6'8" ... so 7'0" and ~ 400 seems legit.

It is for me, but when you have to make them to load with plates, keep a low handle height, and hold 500lbs they get kind of big. 17" is a little larger than a 35 and smaller than a 45. I don't like to use a disk on the bottom that is smaller than the plates you will be using, it catches on the stairs. I should have put 35's on it, only 1/2 inches of the bottom plate sticks out.
The lead filled, smaller powerstairs are definately more fun to load.
