So my birthday's coming up in a few weeks, which means I'm going to be getting a gift from the rest of the teachers at my school. Probably about $60, give or take, since everyone puts in 10 dollars. And I figured that rather than getting somehting stupid like a fruit basket or "Dunkin' Dollars" (a previous birthday boy's gift) I might give a few suggestions as to what could easily be purchased for me online and sent to teh school, no muss no fuss. Heres what I've come up with, I'm just looking for advice as in "Oh you dont have THAT yet? Ask for it, it's awesome" Or "eh, I have em, it's alright"
rehband shorts - I'm assuming that they are like elbow sleeves but for your hips. I knwo a lot of peopel have these, can anyone confirm this? Or am I way off-base. It's not that my hips are a PROBLEM per se, but I would like to keep them healthy. Does anyone use them for squatting as well as events or would that be useless?
3" DB handle - $45+shipping from fatbastardbarbellco.com - would probably have to buy collars too
oly lifting shoes - vsathletics.com has them for 60$ in my size. Wichita Fall Weightlifting has Werksans (with a wooden heel instead of the rubber one that vsathletics has) for $100. I dont practice the competitive lifts too often, but they'd be nice for full squats and front squats, probably overhead events too
atlas stone leather sleeves (from atomic athlete) $55
pfister dvd - if this is available for shipping by March 1st it's getting bumped to the top of the list
gillingham dvd - I've heard it's got a lot of good training info on the deadlift, and i could use the help
monster minibands - I really like band pull aparts, thought this would be a good intermediate step between my minis and a light band. Plus, even tho it's heretical on this board, I do bench, and would like to have a big bench, so these might come in handy
Thoughts?
