My job is winding down after 20 months of almost seven/ twelves. I was going to go on vacation somewhere, but I decided to make a loop through the U.S. and sight see. I was seeing if there was anybody I could stop by and train. I have already spoke to Jon Anderson, Mark Philippi, Brad and Karl Gillingham. I am heading south first through Texas then making my way west. Then I will head north to Washington then East back toward home. I am going to take about a month off. I have about 3 weeks till I am done working.
Thanks in advance, Brian Schoonveld

It doesn't sound like you will be anywhere near me but if you are ever out west of Boston you would always be welcome to come train with us. Have a great trip!

Hey Brian,
That sounds like a damn fun trip! I see you already talked to Jon and I'm sure your squared away a training day with him. But if you need a two-days-in-a-row kind of thing; We train just south of Sacramento. Your welcome anytime.

We've got a good setup here on the coast in Aberdeen, WA. One of the best powerlifting gyms in W. WA is also here. I'll be moving to eastern WA the last week of April and have my training digs set up in the tri-cities about a week after that (A-Team has already relocated from my place and set up a good training area in prep. for this). Jesse and Grant are also within a couple hours drive in Sequim and Maple Valley; both have more guys/stuff than we do. We's small town :).
PM Jason Lake, Ed Eliason or myself if you want to hook up. You're welcome anytime.

Since you’re headed through the South if you go through Tennessee you can train with us in Memphis. If you close Tennessee is a long state.

I'm in Albuquerque NM right on I-40 (which runs across Texas too) and we'd love to have you stop by for some training any time you're in the area. We've got quite a bit of equipment here. Just let me know!

Hey Brian,
Gym in Burlington Iowa with dumbells up to 210.
12 inch log,10 inch log,we have that superdeadlift bar that you used at the Snowman in 2004?05?(you did a partial deadlift/lockout with 1400+ and I believe you liked the bar :o ).
Some light stones indoors.Light keg indoors.
(heavy stones and heavy kegs out doors)
You took my money at the Snowman :D --i sent up the 500lb BONUS keg--and there was a bonus money to see who could lift it the highest--you won.
(might jog your memory-- john didn't realize the 'bonus' money-for lifting the keg-- was in an envelope with a competitors entry check--).
We still have the 500lb keg and we have a 560 stone for you to try.
PM me and I'll find someone for you to stay with--IF youre coming we'll figure out a way to take care of you---would be great if you could show Josh, Jay,Grant and a few other kids how to overhead press while your here.
Mostly the guys all suck on overhead--which is strange cause i used to be good at overhead-- :(
---Seriously we would be honored to have you hang out, work out, teach and share some info with us
If it's sunday you have to go to Church with me though

Hey Ryan! I live about 30min from the Tri Citys. I don't have much but I got a 12" steel log and two stones(240lb and 354lb), a texas power bar, a Forza competition bench, power rack, weights and dumbbells. Maybe we can get together and train some time after you move. I have all my stuff in a back room at my gym but I am selling the gym and I will move my training equipment into another garage gym. I like those better anyways!

If you're really hard up for a place to train, you're welcome to train at my place near Cleveland, OH. I'm just getting started in strongman, but we can probably cobble enough weight together to get ya through a warm-up. We can put you up for a bit so you get a break from the road.

I am overwhelmed by the responses. I am very excited and eagerly ready to make my trek. I was telling my mom and she can hear the excitement in my voice. She knows what I have been through after my divorce and that I am ready to move on and get back to what it is that I am most passionate about. Strength!!. I have been training harder and harder as each day passes by and getting my weight down was the big issue for me. I had let myself get to big. But now I am back and ready to take on the demons that haunt me. Again I thank all of you for your responses and I will keep you up to date when I take off. Stay strong, but stay focused. Schoonie

If you get near Lake Placid, NY you're welcome to come train in my little garage gym. Stones only go to 310, but i've got plenty of rack space and weights, not to mention farmers and a yoke and some tires.
