This is for some of us Mid-low level Amateurs who need to step it up. The events are Axle Clean and Press, any legal technique, 350lbs. for 1 rep. Farmer's Walk, 350lbs. for 100 feet. The FW can be a straight shot, three turns, whatever...
You can do both, or just one. Either way, throw your name on the list and be held accountable. Video is encouraged. Prove it, to us, but mostly to yourself. If you are on the come back, or coming out of a comp, or just sick of being weak, let's dance...
A 350 axle is no joke...and that's the point...are we trying to go pro?
Who else wants in? - PM Me to be added to THE LIST!

Put me down for the farmer's walk. I'll be pushing my overhead, but unless you guys plan on sitting on your axle goal for a year or two then I should sit out on that. ;)
Current best: 310 per hand around 40 feet uphill
I'll be taking some 325s for a run soon, so I'll video that and post it up.

Would a 'Hex bar' count as farmers? I have no access to farmers and I've only trained on that..

Jared I would advise against the use of a Hex Bar for FW, you lose it and the handle tilts your toes will be hurting, trust me... :YT:

already making excuses? :EB: 2xBW is 2xBW. For example if I was back down to 150 I would never be able to load a 300lbs stone.
I think someone can do it.

A 195 pound guy loaded a 385 stone for 4 reps. You can do the same.
It may not necessarily be a matter of strength, but of finding a stone that large!

I'll pass on the 2x bw stone - does anyone even have a 600 pound stone?
As for the others...what the heck, I'm in. My best farmer's is 270 for 100 and who knows what my axle is - I've never maxed on it. If I can figure out how to continental, I'd guess in the upper 200s. I'll give it a go this weekend.

I've already done a stone that was about 2x body weight, but the diameter wasn't that big on it and the platform was only like 36 inches. No video though.
I won't hit either for a long while (doubt I'll ever do close to a 350 axle), but why not...

You must be a skinny guy.
Although, you may have just gave me an idea. I'm going to challenge little Lee Lee Horton in our group to this. He goes about 160-165 lbs. and I believe his max stone is 280-300. I'll have to do a 460 stone at my bodyweight. First I got to make one. :D

Wow, this thread makes me feel weak. I am in on the challenge but I have to figure out how to continental clean. My best is 255 from the rack on the axle (not going to mention my clean and press on it yet). I hadn't done farmers walk in about 3 months or so. My best was 220x100 feet. I read this thread and did some yesterday. I got 260x65 ft after several other sets. Looks like this thread is doing its job as motivation.

Was able to start training OHP again. Nothing too heavy yet, but I've been playing around with various accessory stuff.
Started doing a concentric partial front squat, thrown up off the shoulders and onto the pins at the end of each rep (kinda like how oly lifters dump a front squat at the end of their sets, but more explosive).
Look for a PR or three in a couple weeks.

Nice Run Man!
Matt-
I had my first legitimate contest today. I completed the ~55 ft. course with 330/hand in just over nine seconds. I think a third of the time was spent on the pick-up.
I'll try the 350 for 100' sometime here soon. If I get it, I'll try and get a video up.
Expect the 350 axle video sometime in the next 20 years.

I am a farmers specialist - 300x200feet
I haven't tried 350 but the frame in Wisconsin was 760 and that was for 50 feet in 8 and change.
I am a little girl on he axle though 310. I will be one happy mofo when I nail that one. I have hit 375 behind the neck but that is so much easier.

Yeah, it was the BS forum. It's a lot of improvement in 2 years. As for the missahpen head, you should see my oversized coconut. I have exactly 1/8" more hair on top than you (high and tight with #1 on top), so I think making fun of yours is acceptable. Now, Nik with his tiny head shouldn't say anything. Of course if his head was bigger, his neck would snap from the weight (he really does need to shrug more, besides when asked a hard question and saying "I dunno").

i had the circle city contest yesterday and i did dl525 noproblem, so i sat out on 550 and i thought, and all my friends thought i would get 575, but i guess when the weight gets about 4-6 inches off the ground gravity multiplies. i couldnt get it to go any higher. one of my friends who was judging noticed that i stat the pull with the bar about 4-6 inches from my shins, so i am going to try and work on it. i am going to try and post a video tonight.

I'm still in Oklahoma without much in the way of implements. I'll know more next month after I get home.
I came up with an idea to rig up for deadlifts. I'll try it this afternoon and see if it works.
Any new news to report?!?!?!
Hit a 130kg axle clean and press a few days ago. It was completely unexpected, considering it's an area of weakness. I may try for 300+ at the contest on Saturday.
I haven't attempted a heavy farmer's walk in quite some time. When the time comes that I can afford to do some, I'll give it a go.

great to see everyone making progress!
I hit a PR of 225x2 on the axle today, after a PR of 215x2 2 weeks ago. I'm also up to 310lb farmers for about 15' :D.....should be able to go further after getting used to that kind of weight

Due to time constraints and family obligations my training has been nil, a few implement days here and there. I am saving some money to build a shed and buy a bench with squat hooks and some weights, that way I can train when ever I want to! Glad to see everyones progress.

back's recovering well. I should be able to start training OHP again. I expect 250 or more to fall within 6 weeks of consistent training. Wouldn't mind seeing 300 by the end of the year. It's definitely doable if my body stays moderately healthy.
