So, I just got back from Spidey 3. BIG line for this movie. Luckily, I got there early enough so that when we got in the theater, I was in the first third of the line.
The movie was absolutely excellent. Surprisingly funny, too. I will definitely see this again in theaters with my dad (we go to movies together a lot) and will be buying it.

Awesome man! I am a big superhero nerd. Batman and Spiderman especially. I will not be reading this thread anymore however, seeing as someone may spoil it anyways and then i'd be pissed.

It was two and a half hours of pure greatness.

I JUST SAW IT! And it sucked. Bring out the tampons men because there is a ton of crying in that flick. That's all I will say so's not to ruin it for the others.

NZ critics have been ripping into it since it came out. Calling it spider-emo etc. I'm gonna see pathfinder and 300 first. Probably wait for the DVD.

Spider-emo? That sounds perfect for you! Hahaha! He did look a little emo in parts.

I don't care what y'all, say, I loved it. Lot's of crying, whatever. I laughed my ass off at those parts.

I enjoyed it.
IMO, far better than a recently released movie about 300 near naked men with brainless one liners.
People are too caught up in hype. Spiderman has always been about him being a hopeless romantic.

A romantic sure, but when did they fit in a emo personality and horrible dance moves. It was the Star Wars 1, 2, and 3 of the Spiderman series. It was a joke! It could have been an hour and twenty min instead of two and a half. Way too long and way too cheesy.

here's my review from another forum. I don't think i'm giving anything away w/ this post, but if i am, mods feel free to delete what i'm giving away..
I just got back from seeing spiderman 3. The special effects were awesome. Some of the effects are just amazing, like the scenes w/ sandman. I think this is one of the pluses to making the movie now, as opposed to 10 years ago, where the effects are so good now, that they won't look aged in 10 years, as they would have if it was made 10 years ago, and you look at them today. Bruce Cambell was awesome in the movie, and the audience got a huge kick out of his role. Stan Lee also made a camio in the movie.
I think they put too much stuff in the story though, and had so many plot lines. If i were to direct this, coming from a comic nerd, i would have made it into 2 movies. One focusing on Spiderman and the symbiote, and the changes that it would bring to him as a person, and him getting rid of it at the end, and the next movie, i would have revolve around venom, and spiderman, and the turmoil between the two of them.
There were a few plot holes in the movie. Like why did sandman do all the destruction he did, and try and kill spiderman throughout the movie? It's briefly touched on towards the end, but still had me scratching my head at the end. Kind of a pointless villian, and i think it would have been cooler if they would have done the 2 movies, like i said, and have venom and the lizard in it instead of sandman.
The ending was pretty open, and didn't have closure to it like the first two did. There were a lot of cheesy lines towards the end that should have been omitted. It seems like Ramini directed this movie w/ a bigger sense of humor than his previous efforts.
But overall, it was a very enjoyable movie. Pretty long. I went to the 12:04 showing, and didn't get out of there until 2:45 or so. I'd give it a B.

You guys are complaining that Tobey Maquire seemed emo. This seems hilarious to me.

This is the most offensive thing I have ever read. Ever!
And Spiderman wasn't a hopeless romantic. He was just hopeless.
