View Full Version : Behemoths & Boats???

Does anyone have info on the Behemoths and Boats competition that's supossed to take place during the boat races in the Tri-cities?

I went to the Columbia Cup racing website where they have the event listed under "shore activities," but their information link takes you the NAS website where the contest isn't listed at all. I've tried contacting some of the sponsors, but no one seems to know anything.

Any help would be appreciated

Yea, it's not looking too good unfortunatly. I e-mailed the promoter (Kelly) a while back and never heard back from her. Now it's getting to be too late to even give it a proper promotion job. It is sad due to the fact it was the longest running strongman contest here in the Northwest, and a very well ran one also. I will say though that it wasn't as good for the spectators once it became NASS due to the fact that alot of the top guy's in the Northwest could no longer enter it, which cut down on entries and excitment.

It is also without the doubt one of the best venues. I had a blast last time I was there.

I emailed the promoter (Kelly) a few months ago and she said she was still planning on having it, but was in negotiations with the water follies committee (they run the boat races). She said she would keep me informed, but I haven't heard anything since. It maybe that she ran into problems with the water follies committee, I believe that the boat races are under new management/promoters.

So I guess there will be a bunch of us standing around in the parking lot at 0700 on Saturday with enough cash to pay an entry fee... or go buy breakfast :confused:


It would be nice to get a little "heads up" if anyone is able to find out anything.
