Callie, awesome! Looks like you did a good job for someone who's never ran through an obstacle course!
I am looking at the november event in tampa as my first obstacle course competition, since i haven't found anything up here. So i might see you there!
Hey quick question - i was looking thorugh the women's tri-fitness website, and reading about the events/rounds. There is a fitness routine round. did you do that as well or did you just do the dual competitor challenge plus grace/physique?
What was the hardest part for you? I was talking to another girl who does O-courses and she said I should really work on sprints so as to keep my time up between obstacles.

That's awesome!
I'm actually heading out there next weekend for their weekend-long training camp (http://womenstri-fitness.com/comp_tcamp.htm). It was a spur of the moment decision i made this week. haha! I'll let you know how that goes, and will share any tips the camp athletes share with us.
Sprints and plyos - exactly what that other girl told me. She said she didnt' realize how slow she was until she got to the race and saw how much time she spent getting from one obstacle to the other. And plyos - well I am just getting started with that, so this should be interesting!

Callie,
What a great competition. I loved the video!!
You looked awesome and performed very well.
I was reading through the WTF webpage and looking at all of the pics.... Did you get penalties for the cargo net and the last hurdle? In the rules it says that penalties are assessed 1 second per rope missed on the decent in the cargo net and 2 seconds per hurdle.... that sounds pretty harsh!!!! In the pictures, I saw alot of girls did the cargo net the same way that you did.
Ivonne, Have a great time at the training weekend. Give us a report when you get back.
I love this kind of training! It is so interesting.
Great work, ladies!!!
Callie, see in you two weeks!!!

Hey, Callie.
Yeah, I'll be a light weight....
I actually meant to be one last year, but didn't quite make weight at Richmond. Then didn't realize I had to qualify in the division for Nationals, so I went all out as a heavy weight... 160lbs for last summer.
But, this year I was a light at Charlotte and then only around 150lb for both Ohio and Rage in the Cage.
I am taking some time off from teaching (while working on my masters) and will be personal training in Myrtle this year, so I figured I should look the part (smaller and leaner - supposed to be motivating, right??).
See you in St. Louis.

Awwww....
Thanks, Callie.
And thanks, Geoff. (there's no blushing smiley here for me to use like in the yahoo mail)
Callie, looks like we'll be on our own for Nats, Geoff will be in Scotland and he said Jesse won't be there either.
It is gonna be a good competition.
See you then.
