Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good joint / tendon supplement. I have had tendonitis in my knees and it has been acting up lately.
If someone could invent a cure for tendonitis they'd be a millionaire... perhaps even a gagillionaire :BB:
Thanks!!!

I find deep massage of the offending area works great for my elbow tendonitis.

I take Glucosamine, choindritin (sp?) and MSM, and they seem to help my joints, but I haven't noticed any effect on tendonitis.

The glucose molecule is too large to pass through the gut wall lining, same with chondroitin.. However clinical studies have shown people to have reduced pain due to using them(osteoarthritis). Does it work, or is it placebo?
One study conducted at the University of Maryland found that at least half of the commercially available chondroitin supplements failed to supply the labeled amount of the ingredient – and some provided almost zero chondroitin. Perhaps the best-substantiated chondroitin supplement is Cosamin from NutraMax Labs (which also provides glucosamine) because it has been used extensively in pre-clinical and clinical studies.
MSM is pretty much over priced IMO... and there are a number of other less expensive, yet equally effective dietary sources of sulfur, including eggs, meat and fish – as well as sulfur containing amino acids such as methionine and cystine/cysteine.
I would also dose up on the Vit C.. because it functions as an essential cofactor for the enzymes involved in the synthesis of collagen – the chief structural protein in connective tissues such as bones, cartilage and skin. You will need well over 1000mg a day though. Im around 210lbs, and take 5000mg a day. Its water soluble, so take it seperated throughout the day.

Does it really matter? As long as my joints don't hurt when I take it I don't care if it is physcological or really working, the end is the same, my joints don't hurt.

I don't know how people take that much vit-C, I got cought up in large doses of vit-C about 10 years ago (~3 - 4 g/day) and all it did was burn my a$$.

Exactly!
My mom likes glucosamine+MSM+ chondrotin from Costco.
Flax seed oil as well
