Question for my mates across the pond...

I have a question for my brotheren in the UK. My wife is hooked on this show on the E! channel here in the states called Katy and Peter. I've never heard of any of these people. She's pretty fine but is an absolute lunatic and he is some weepy, punk, boy band member. I've asked a few people here in the states and very few people have heard of them. Why are they so famous across the water?

I know it's a stupid question that's completely unrelated to any strength topics, but it's driving me crazy when I see how rich these cats are for absolutely nothin.

He is a greek/aussie or something like that. Dont think he was in a boyband, but was a pop 'artist' releasing about 1.5 songs, one of which is quite catchy, but for all the wrong reasons.

they were on a tv show, got together and now somehow think they are a cut above. Basically famous for all the wrong reasons! both talentless and anyone with any sense can see straight through them.such as you two fine chaps! ;)

David Beckham played his last game for real madrid and is on his way to LA. Can i just ask, are the Beckhams actually famous over there? I get the impression that Victoria is going to be getting lots of tv work? i cant see how, she was in the spice girls but not done anything since. probably just going to milk the posh upper class english type girl that seems to have a bit of a niche market in the us

and yes, the beckhams are definitely famous. They're like a lot of people over here, they seem to be famous for being famous more than for his soccer skills or her ... whatever skills were involved in being a spice girl.

Haha, that reminds me of the ali g sketch where he interviews them (everyone go look this up on youtube now) where he asks tehm about their kid and says "So, does 'e wan' to be a footballer like dad, or a singer like mariah carey" ... hilarious

David Beckham and the spice girl are famous but not nearly as famous as they are across the pond. David isn't that famous because soccer isn't a big deal in the states.

As far as Katie and Peter are concerned, I don't know why my wife watches that show. It's ridiculous! But I can't be too mad because I like Flava of Love and the Flavor of Love Charm School Show! Gotta get my ghetto fix somewhere since I don't live in the ghetto anymore! LOL!!!

I wish I could explain why I feel compelled to follow those shows, but it's a mystery. I seriously watch maybe 3 shows altogether (or, whatever is on at 3 AM when I finally wind down), and it just has to be some of the goofiest stuff that I get addicted to.

There's actually something a bit wrang in the heed with Jordan, I mean even by celebratory standards. The closest person I would compare her to in the US would be Anna Nicol Smith, minus the blatant gold diggery. Never out of the press, but at the same time never actually seems to be doing anything.
