San Diego: Need to hook up with someone with bumper plates for workout

Dan, check out Kegrice Gym, if James doesn't have bumpers he should be able to point you in the right direction. I think Parkway Fitness still has all the bumpers you need. Doug

Dan, I lift at World Gym in PB, theres a platform there and bumpers. Also on Tuesday and Thursday nights, Donnie, Kristin and I usually do events out in eastern San Diego and Donnie has a couple of bumper plates. If we don't train bc of certain reasons I'm at Worlds as well as Mondays and Fridays.

Let me know when you're coming in though, I'd definitely like to get some training in if you're around. Also, where in San Diego are you staying...

I will be staying with my dad in Chula Vista from that mon thru thurs morn. I actually know a guy who teaches crossfit training, he's a good friend of my roommate. Name is Brian something. I might check out the crossfit place. I'm actually like 15 minutes from either crossfit OR that World Gym, and World Gym kicks ass, plus there I'd be able to meet and train with some other board members, so I'll let you guys know what I decide soon.

Kegrice is no more unfortunately. Also, theres some strong Mofos at Worlds though Im not sure if they are there on Tuesdays. Onn Basson lifts there...I think he was an 1100 or so squatter a few years ago at the Arnold

What happened to Kegrice? It was a real hole in the wall but a good place for PL's and Strongman.

I only trained there a few times one week while on business. But Jim even gave me a key so I could come in early! Damn Cool!

Yeah Mick, James was cool, I met him in 83' just before getting out of the Corps, he was an 18 year old powerlifter, one of the best pl'er technicians I've ever seen. Good training partner also. Has like two master degrees and one or two batchelors I believe. Hope he's doing well. Doug

The 24 hour fitness in Escondido has an olympic platform. It is by no means the swankiest one (i.e. the black bumpers, not the competition colored ones and the bar is too worn), but it still is plenty usable.

Also, Mike's Gym in bonsall would be great if you could sneak in there. Mike Burgener is a very well known Olympic coach. If you tell him about yourself, he may let you lift there, who knows.

Dan one of my athletes just moved down there and he is doing all his olympic lifts and explosive lifts at worlds gym. It has a nice area to work with
