I'm thinking about buying the Buffalo Bar for my squat training. If anyone trains with this tool please let me know how You judge about it!
Thanks a lot! :)

The buffalo bar is great for squats especially bottom position squats and if you use bands, it is also good for good mornings but it really can not be used for anything else

Thanks for the reply! Does the sleeves rotate, just curious!
If anyone else has something to say about this bar, please let me know!

I love the bar it is by far my favorite bar to squat with.

Sequim Crew has one and we use it frequently and love it

Sounds good!

Can You tell me if the sleeves are rotating? Perhaps a ballbearing or something like that?
Thanks, Burkhard

The sleeves do rotate. One of the things I like to do with it is situps. I just lay down roll the bar over my head onto my upper chest craddling the bar (think conans wheel) and sit up. This way you have a way of increasing weight.

They got one not long ago at the only hardcore gym around. My access to the place is sporadic so I used it maybe twice. The big thing that I heard from my powerlifting team at the gym is that the lower hand position somehow took pressure away from the elbows.
They used the Buffalo Bar almost exclusively until right before the last contest. Everyone was getting PR's in the bench almost weekly. I guess this was due to their elbows feeling so much better.
Hope that helps.

I'm happy with all those replies! Thanks a lot! It's very difficult to get any informations about american training equipment first hand - if You are from Europe (Germany). For example I don't know anybody who owns a Buffalo Bar - so I appreciate Your help a lot!
It's interesting to hear that the use of this bar seems to influence the bench performance, too. I think I'll buy such a bar. I would like to do high rep squatting with it. I always had some very big haematoms in the neck area from straight bars - and usually headache coming from this area after squatting. So hopefully this problem will be solved if I train with this bar. I don't like to wrap a towel around the bar because straigts bars are not fixed enough in this case.

Since yesterday I own a Buffalo Bar and it seems to me that buying one was a very good decision! Yesterday I did some squats to test the bar before buying it: it fits perfectly onto my shoulders, no unconfortable pressure on the neck anymore. I'm looking forward to my leg training in the future!
