I checked out US Wellness Meats and ordered some ground beef. This stuff is awesome and their service is excellent. Here is a recommended place to get raw dairy products www.organicpatures.com. They also have excellent service and high quality products. More and more of my diet consists of organic/raw foods. I feel much better and I'm getting stronger all of the time.

I heard about Grassland here so thanks for the tip. My cholesterol has never been a problem but my blood pressure has. My BP has gone down and I feel less bloated in the gut. I'll never look at beef the same way again! It's not uncommon for me to plow thru a pound of beef at one sitting and I try to eat about 2 pounds of it a day.

Here's the link again (the one up top didn't work)

I'd love to eat more raw, organic foods, but I just can't afford $8 a gallon for milk or $5/lb for beef.

Jesse, if you're eating that much beef a day, do you even bother with protein supplements?

I eat 3-4 solid meals, all include beef. Morning and evening a slam a protein shake w/ added flax oil, yogert and banana. sometimes I'll have one during the day too. I realize the price of organic foods is steep. But, the money you save in the long run by avoiding medical problems in my opinion is worth it. In the short run I noticed an imediate increase in performance. Which, to me, is quite valuable. As far as expenditures, think about it; what could you spend money on that is more important than your health and performance?

Beef from Grassland get's much cheaper by volume. You're paying alot for shipping, I thin 37 bucks on 25 pounds. but after that shipping goes way down so the per pound cost of the beef delivered to your door is much less.

If you do alittle research you may be able to find a local connection for organic meat. I found one for eggs and chickens. Here is another worthwhile link www.westonaprice.org for more info on clean eating and its benefits.

I wish I could eat orgainic foods. Here I am making my way towards the prime of my athletic life, trying to gain quality weight and strength, and I'm feeding myself basically crap. There is no question, if I had the money, I would eat nothing but organic. I also believe that the investment is worth the time, money, and grief that could end up going to medical problems in the future anyway. Once I graduate I will make the change to organic.

At least all the steroids that are pumped into the non-organic cows must trickle into the meat and dairy to some degree, which might be why drinking lots of milk seems to help muscle growth.

The only problem with that is alot of the hormones introduced into the food supply are estrogens. Many pestides are considered environmental estrogens especially herbicides. Don't want to freak anyone out here, I'm just givng a little food for thought.

I'd always read that washing your vegetables in cold water got rid of almost all traces of pesticides. Is there that big of a difference with organic produce?

Actually the best way is to wash them in warm water with a drop of dish soap.

I don't think pesticides are the big problem so much as the poor soil they are grown in. The soil is devoid of vitamins and minerals, therefore so is the produce.
