I found a good place to buy some cheap weights. They have 100# plates for $45 and they have bumper plates also. They have free shipping and they accept paypal!! I am going to order some 100# plates. I remember someone on here was asking about a place to order plates. Hope this helps. www.midwest-sporting-goods.com

That is REALLY cheap, if they honor the free shipping. I'd check. I don't think 100 is upsable, so your talking truck and that is going to cost them a ton...

Ben etc.-
Saw you posted on The Anvil about this.
My Mom ordered about 2k worth of equipment from them about 4 weeks ago and still hasn't received any of it. They not only charged her shipping, but tax as well. She emailed whomever it is that runs the site, and didn't hear back for 2 weeks. When the owner finally emails her back, he says that the person who manages his site listed all the prices wrong, and that he couldn't ship the order for free, but he would waive the tax (which he couldn't legally charge anyway). Shipping wasn't bad, I think 100-150 (for a bunch of plates, dumbells, bars, racks etc.) so she opted not to cancel the order. Like I said before, she still hasn't received any of her order and the guy isn't answering her emails anymore. If I were you, I'd avoid that particular site.
I also know that their supplier (forgot their name) distributes to a few other sites that are cool to work with; ESportsOnline.com is one I've shopped at. I'm pretty sure they can get all of the same equipment and will honor the free shipping. I know a few people who had gotten their "Champion" 45s for $21 shipped. Don't know if they still sell the 45s/100s. You'll have to call.

That is a very common tatic used by a lot of internet companies.
My friend was looking to buy a high end Nikon camera. He looked around on the internet and found some too good to be true prices. He ordered from them, then got an email saying that he had to call them to confirm the order. He calls them, and the guy asks if he wants to buy the super duper extra battery that costs 40 bucks. My friend says no, then the sales person says opps, sorry, but we are currently out of stock of your camera.
My friend did this about 3 or 4 times and got the same result.
So long story short, be careful when ordering from internet companies.

Thanks Ryan - I kinda thought that might have been the case. Hope you guys get your stuff resolved.

First rule of dealing with Internet companies that you're unsure of - email them before you palce an order. If they reply confirming all their prices / availability etc. then you're generally safe, and if it ever gets to the point of legal action, you've got written confirmation to back you up.
You'd be amazed however, how many Internet shops don't reply to emails. Avoid them like the plague. They'll be nothing but trouble.

I would add, if you get screwed by an internet company, file with the BBB. They most likely wont resolve your problem, but at least it will get a mark against then, so when someone else looks them up on bbb.org they will have a few bad marks.

A good place for weights is Dick's sporting goods. 300lb weight set with a bar for $109 on sale (which is just about every week). The bar is junk, but you can't beat $0.35 per pound. It's a national chain, I think.

Too many small plates and not enough 45s (2) per set. Otherwise, its a great starter set. The plates usually go on sale at the same time though, for either $.49 (when the 300 lb set is $99)or $.59 (when the set is $109) per lb, so adding some additional 45s isn't too expensive.
