When Washington's biggest and toughest come together in superhuman displays of strength, muscles bulge and testosterone flows. And the women cheer from the sidelines.

Callie and Jesse - one heart and one soul!
But not Callie Marunde of Sequim.
At 5-foot-3, 135-pounds, Callie is a lightweight in category only and a heavyweight in every other way.
In her division, she is officially the strongest woman in America.
She is a two-time national champion of "Strongwoman," the growing female subset of the "Strongman" tournaments.
"People are pretty impressed by it," she said.
Callie is inspired by her husband, Jesse. They met at one of his "Strongman" competitions.
"He can pull busses, semi-trucks… I was very impressed," said Callie.
"I like showing off. I show off all the time, so I was showing off for her a little bit," said Jesse.
And Jesse shows off lifting anything, but he prefers lifting Callie.
At first, Callie waited with other wives and girlfriends on the sidelines, but Jesse encouraged her to do her own heavy lifting.
Within a few months, Callie hoisted huge concrete boulders that weigh more than she does.

Together, Callie and Jesse are a couple like no other – they are the strongest couple in Washington, which makes for a strong marriage too.
Callie and Jesse intend to uphold their titles. As a couple, they run a personal training business out of Sequim.
