For those that competed and others that are interested the complete results are at www.bigtonyscrivens.com

My day went pretty well.
Tire flip and frame - ended up adding weight to the frame due to insufficient weights brought to the contest site. ended up with 740 for 50 feet after 2 flips with the 1100 lb tire. Tire went fast which was a good thing considering i dropped the frame about 5 times due to my grip giving out. ended up second to Ryan Brown in the HW

Log medley (250, 275, 300, 325)
first two easy third felt heavy but went up good and the 4th didn't really budge from my chest. Realized that trying to press outside on asphalt is different than in a gym. need to work on that. Sam M finished all 4 logs in a good time.

Conan's wheel
This was more fun than I thought it was going to be. Still hurt like hell. Chad Coy set the weight out on the end of the 15 foot arm and several other competitors that have done this event before said it was heavy. We also had a slope on the surface which meant if you weren't careful you could lose the arm. Of course walking up the hill is one heck of a glute and hamstring workout. Dave set the mark early with 1 and a qaurter turns. I knew I would have to beat him at this since beating him in stones is a dream not a reality. ended up going past his mark and dumped it. Needless to say baby wipes were needed after that.

Deadlift for reps
changed due to time - was suppose to do a silver dollar but would of took to long. I believe we did 630 or 635 for reps off the ground. Dave set the mark again with 6 reps. I hate to bring height into this but Dave for you to pull that 6 times at 6' 7'' is absolutely nuts. I definetly had to work to get 7 reps to win the event.

Stones
This is always an exciting event but it was all the more that day because two of the LW Am were tied for the pro card going into the event and it came down to seconds in the end. For the HW Sam loaded the 275-300-340-365 in something like 16 seconds and just missed the 395. Dave didn't seem to worried but I believe one of the stones fell off during his run and he had to reload it and forced him to load the 395 which was impressive as hell. I ended up getting the first 4 in 20 seconds and lapped the 395 but had nothing left in my back so it didn't go.
All in all the competitors were great. A lot of the guys didn't quite till the whistle blew and there is nothing more impressive than seeing someone give it there all until they can't give anymore.
Ryan Brown ended up winning his pro card - congratulations - you put in a solid effort Ryan
Adam Keep ended up winning his pro card in the lightweights - congratulations - and hopefully you can get some training and competitions in over seas - good luck.

Great write-up... I am still bummed that I couldn't come up to this contest! How was the food?

The lights were 535. The heavies were in the 625 range.
