19 yrs old= fast metabolism
heavy weight training =faster metabolism
lots of eating=faster metabolism

I sweat constantly, i'm sweating right now typing this post and its 76 degrees in the room.
I change my shirt 6 times a day at work when we're busy

You're not alone man! Just think, winter is right around the corner!

As a trained athlete, your body reacts quicker than a normal persons to keep it at the ideal temperature. It doesn't know you not lifting, and attempts to keep it in a tight range. Weight is also a factor.

i sweat like a beast in anything over 45degrees, 65 allows me to stand still and not sit as long as im not in the sun, anything above 65 i sweat with moderate effort movement.

You get used to it, Breathing out and in from your mouth will help cool your body and limit the sweating while walking if your that worried lol

We sweat because we're men and that's what men do :BP:

My one roomate is like me and sweats constantly so we keep the thermostat at 60-65. Anything above that though and I'll sweat just sitting around. Just the way I am I guess.

I have the same problem too. I am 5'9 and 230. If it is really embarrassing you......go to the local drug store and pick up some Certain-dri. Follow the instructions. Don't over use it. I was in the Marines and when I knew I had to be in uniform I would use it a couple of days before. Works great.

Certain-Dri is great stuff

I tell everyone that I sweat so much because I'm in great enough shape and my body is extremely efficient at cooling itself.

Of course, this perception is shattered by the love handles.

I sweat all the time too. I get self concious then I sweat more...it's a vicious and unforgiving cycle. I hope it's because I"m "in good shape"...

i had to take a public speaking class in college last year. I wore a light blue cotton shirt, and gave my speech. I went to the bathroom after, and realized i had HUGE pit stains under my shirt.

I sweat terribly as well. My wife always asks me if I'm "okay" when we're out and she notices that I'm not all too dry. I have to constantly explain that it's just the way things are - I was sweaty when I was a fat slob, I was sweaty when I was skinny, and I'll always be a sweaty guy no matter what weight I am or what the weather conditions are once it gets above 75 degrees or 50% humidity. Not much of a problem other than that she hates having to do more laundry since I go through 3 shirts on lifting days (whatever I'd worn all day, whatever I wore to the gym, and whatever shirt I took to use as a sweat rag).

thanks, i mean i never had this problem before that was before i started lifting 2.5 years ago. i have gotten tons stronger since, since november 2006, i have put well over 150kg on my squat and deadlift as ive actually been training these, and as a consequence I sweat more, im not sweating now, but its not hot atm,

say if i go to the SU bar at my university, then because theres no windows open, even when i wear just a t shirt, i start to sweat but its mainly from my forehead, and it drips down, and i constantly have to wipe the area, i mean everyone else feelsd hot but they dont break sweat at all, i was thinking about shaving my hair to 0.5 again, maybe that would stop the dripping?

i will definetly look into the certain dri stuff at my local drug store

I sweat a lot also. Like the other guys that posted here I could just sit there not moving and sweat. I've been like this since I was a kid.

I sweat a real lot. I was always a skinny kid, then i bulked from 175 to 230, and now i cant walk 10 feet with out sweating.

i sweat more than anyone in the world and I literally mean that. I think i have hyper-hidrosis syndrome. I sweat even when its cold. It has a lot to do w/ the nervous system. Now when i'm training it's on. i tear so many callouses bc my hands sweat and when i chalk it up for a lift the friction just tears the moist skin right of. At least when I win events I can truly say that blood, sweat, and tears went into this.

I learned in school that you can get medical botox in your armpits, and you wont sweat in that area for 6 months... although u may sweat it other areas more than usual

hi i dont really sweat in my armpit areas, i mainyl sweat from my forehead area, but i got short hair, im thinking if i shave my hair then the sweat wouldnt cling onto the hair threads and then drip down my face

Because your pores are open.

Sweating like that is kinda subjective. your age and enviromental factors play a part also.
I'm the strangest sweater ever lol.
When I sweat during squats both my harns from the backs of my finers to my shoulders sweat like crazy but thats about it lol.

on a side note when i was in cali for the wsm the only time i sweated was while training and even then it was minute amount. The weather here in florida is prime for sweating all day long.

I live in california and I sweat like a freak. I wish they would keep gyms about 15 degrees cooler. I get overheated so easily and it really affects my performance. BTW, my electric bills due to over-use of A/C are shockingly ridiculous.

Dang; you beat me! Mine was around 550 last month. Apparently it costs a lot of money to make 100 degree weather into 70 degrees. My baseline electric bill is still pretty high though because I have a pool pump and spa which sucks up all sorts of juice. And don't get me started about heating the pool. I tried it one month and my gas bill was like 450 dollars instead of 15. Now I go for polar bear swims ever since. Stupid things costing money :(

Old thread, but I break a sweat shoveling snow when it's 15 degrees bellow zero outside and I'm not even dressed extra warm. Imagine how much I sweat at the gym. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy because I don't even wear a jacket when it's 30 degrees and up. I get some pretty bewildered looks when I'm shoveling snow in a T-shirt.

My 2 cents is that most weight-trained men sweat more than the average joe due to their mass vs surface area. A lot of guys with muscle may 'look' to be a lot lighter than they really are due to the higher density of muscle. As you increase your mass, your surface area does not increase at the same rate and you effectively have less area to release heat. And its a fact

Not sure if that makes sense? I weight 220 right now, if you compared me to a 220lb butterball who never touched a weight, you would say I looked lighter. He would be more rotund, with a lot more area to sweat/cool over.

I wish i had that problem, im freezing when i wake up and the heat is on 74 and my feet will be ice cold unless im all dressed.

I find that what I eat changes how I sweat. Generally if I'm eating more beef or carbs than normal I sweat more. If you want real sweating try sitting in a turret on a 140 degree day :N:
