Guys and Gals. So I've come to the decision I'd like to try a competition sooner than expected, however want to do it in the novice class if there is one available, if not, just go heavyweight and just have some good ol fun. Deal is, I'm active duty and can't take leave for no reason (you'd think it would be different right, but its not) so I'm looking for a competition in the northwest region coming up either between now and early december, or early next year. I've sent out a few PM's about it to people who may know, but on second thought decided to just openly ask anyone. Cause I've looked on here, and looked on NAS and couldn't find jack in this region coming up. (only really glanced though, my job is taking up alot of my time at the moment.) So if any of you know anything please hit me up.
Thanks
Matt Brouse

The 'season' runs sort of late spring to fall. But, as we get closer to next year they should start popping up on NAS.

Also keep an eye on Ontartio Strongman (ontariostrongman.ca) since there might be some shows in the Vancouver area too and they list the majority of shows across Canada (both sanctioned and non-sanctioned).

There is not much here in Canuckville (Canada) until next spring. There are very few comps during the winter time here. :(

Too bad you aren't stationed down here in so-cal. When I was an active duty Marine I competed in The Camp Pendleton Strongest Warrior Contest a couple of times. It is open to any active duty military personnel. I think the next one is in March..........Not your time frame...but just something to think about.

Easton, Hey, can you give me a POC for that, because I can talk to our MWR and see if they are willing to do something up here for strongman stuff. This is a biiig region for navy, coast guard, and army. There would be a butt ton of military competitors. Everytime there is a powerlifting trouney, they have to have like a 2 week open for applying before cutting it off or they will get too many competitors. If you have a POC for that I can get them in contact with my people and see what they can do.

Thanks for the mention, but I generally only list contests in Ontario or nearby states (NY, OH, PA, IL, MA, MI, VT).
For BC listings, try:

and for Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta, try:

Here is the link. It was held on the 28th of September. Still trying to find a POC. Funny at the end of the article it says it is spreading throughout the Pacific.

I'm sorry Easton, I thought your name said Earnest when it popped, up, I scan words so fast that I mess names up alot, I edited my post, I apologize, hahaha, wow, that's a terrible mess up too on my part. HAHAHAHA. Anyway, I'm checking the website out right meow, looks pretty awsome. I tried to get ahold of somebody yesterday and I think they may just be interested in getting our MWR behind it.

Will definatley show that article to whoever I end up getting as a point of contact on my side, if all else fails I've heard of MWR sponsoring anything that is requested by a highish ranking officer, and my boss is a commander and he's all about watching sports and stuff, so I think I may be able to smooze him in if I needed to. This would allow me to get more word out about strongman to the military to widen a competitor base and more interest in the region in general.

Oh no, oh no, you lookit here! Is that a challenge, you get your Pendleton's strongest warriors out against navy's fattest petty officers and we'll see who takes the golden anchor!!! What now, HAHAHAHA!!! ;p (more like the golden coffee cup and silver donut, pffft!) Nah, I'm an amphib sailor to the core dude, thats where I started and that's where I will always live in my heart, I was on the USS Belleau Wood, we took alot of your guys over there and supported them. It was recently decomed and sank outside Hawaii. Sniff sniff, I miss er. Anyway. Yeah, either way, I'll call around today and see what I can find and maybe check to see online what I can find for sponsorship. (not that it would happen anytime soon, but it would be awsome to have like a championship for all branches to compete against each other on a worldwide basis)
