I have never been much of a reader but i recently have started again. A while back i read Kurt Angles book and it really helped inspire me during other certain atheltic accomplishments that i achieved in the past. So its been years since i read it and i started ready it again today. 3.5 hours later i realized how much i enjoyed it.
The only books that seem to keep my interest are books similar to the one about kurt angle. Basically athlete bio's or very inspirational athletic stories. ANyone have any good suggestions because i would really like to start ready more often.
By the way.. if you havent... read Kurt Angles book. The majority of the book is about his life before the wwf. ABout him groing up and overcoming a ton ofobsitcles to win the olympics. When i first read it, it really took my motivation to another level and it heped me out alot

You should read Bill Goldberg's book also. Pretty cool. Alot about him before wrestling too.

Dinosaur training (http://brookskubik.com/dinosaurbook.html) by Brooks Kubik
This book has gotten me more motivated and try other things in the gym. I must say it is a must read for all serious lifters and strongmen and women will especially get alot out of it.
Winning Ways: How to Succeed In the Gym and Out
IronMind: Stronger Minds, Stronger Bodies
winning ways and Ironmind (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmind/prodinfo.asp?number=1305%2D2)
these two books are great for a quick read when you don't have alot of time to sit and get into your book. They are made up of short two or three page stories of how you can apply yourself etc. Basically stories of success. Perfect for when I had my daily ritual in the bathroom. :D

I enjoyed Dave Draper's, "Brother Iron, Sister Steele". It is more about bodybuilding, but I still thought that it was pretty good.

WHat was that book about?
this guy who runs a lot. sounds boring but he's done some crazy stuff like the 50/50/50 fifty marathons in fifty days in fifty states (not covered in book). in the book he also does the "Badwater Ultramarathon" which is 135 miles through changing elevation and death valley's ridiculous temperatures.

Spent a good hour at the book store last night... of course the first place i gois the magazine section! but i was happy because they had powerlifting usa so i picked up a copy. One of the best and random things that was given to me was a powerlifting usa magzine. Back a long time ago when i was very interested in trying the sport out this random guy came in the gym one day and gave me a powerlifting usa magazine. It was great because it had a great 4 or 5 page article by CJ Murphy about strongman and what exercises in the gym translate best to certain events etc.... Still have that this day. I was looking for the planet fitness magazine because i remember someone on the board saying that it had a good article bout Kevin Nee.
ANyways, another book that looked like an inspiring story was Tedy Bruschi's new book about his stroke and his comeback to the NFL. Didnt buy it cause i want to finish the book im reading but it might be one of the next books i buy

I think you should stick with FLEX magazine, probably your best bet for inspiration and the best training/supplement advice. It also has lots of pictures; we know you don’t do so well with the whole reading thing. :D

Lance Armstrong's first book, I can't remember the name, is very good. Is it Every Second Counts or is that his second book??

That's the second one.
First one is "It's Not About the Bike". Well worth a read.

Romo its about Bill Romanowski and his training and what he did to get to his level and about his career and all the stuff he took. Good read.
Driven From Within by Michael Jordon. good book
No Excuses: The True Story of a Congenital Amputee Who Became a Champion in Wrestling and in Life by Kyle Maynard. Awesome and incredibly motivational book. I really recommend this one for anyone looking for a good read and needs to be inspired.
