I've shot a few bodybuilding contests recently but find that I don't get many orders for the DVDs. I think that a bodybuilder/figure competitor can pretty much see all s/he needs to see from a good still pic. A video is not necessary. However, in boxing and martial arts a video is the ONLY way to evaluate one's performance and possibly improve it for next time.

What are your thoughts on this and does anyone know of any Mixed Martial Arts competitions in the PA/Del/NJ area that would like the services of a videographer? Or am I just wasting my time?

Thanks,
Mike

I saw Raising the Bar and thought it was good. Maybe it's a marketing issue? I mean, are you getting your information out there for people to see? I only came across Raising the Bar on Ironsport when I was looking at something else.

bodybuilders are ver narcisistic (sp?). They (wife, girlfriend, training partner) video themselves and don't care to see anyone else.

Fighters need to see themselves but the also would want to see their next oponent. You probably are on to something. It would take some leg work but travel around to training gyms and give out your card and ask for a schedule of comming fights.

You may be right. I've only been doing this for two years. It could just be a matter of establishing a name for myself so that the contestants know that they will get a quality DVD. So many contest videos are very poorly done.
