There might aready be an old thread about this, but I'm not sure. I finally set my garage up to train in and it's a concrete floor. I don't have carpet or anything else and was wondering if I should get some type of padding. I'll be doing Oly lifts as well as all the other lifts and I'm not sure if the pounding my joints and feet will take on the bare floor as opposed to a carpeted floor will hurt me over time. What do you guys think? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Get 4 sheets of 3/4" ply wood and two 4x8 stall mats (look at a feed store).
Screw the plywood and glue the stall mats so you have an 8x8 surface 2 1/4" high to train on. But it will be heavy. You may want to press some nylon web straps between the plywood to serve as loops/handles in case you need to slide it out of the way.
Easy, cheap, solid.

We built a garage in 2004 to turn in to a home gym and did the above. we didn't use the plywood under the the stall mats except for deadlift platform and squared it out w/ 2x4's. also we have extra layer of mat on top of the floor layer where we squat. works great!!!
