Ok i have a pretty weird problem and not sure what the hell is causing it. I think it might have to do with me being dehydrated but after today i am not sure.
So the past few weeks sometimes i have woken up and EVERY muscle in my body is crammped up bad like to the point where i cant even move to get out of bed. The worst parts that cramp up are my hips, legs and abs. They get so crampped up i can barely walk and have to go sit in the tub until it loosens up enough where i can take the pain and walk around still crammped. Now i think this keeps happening when i gorge on food before bed. The last time it happened i had a ton of chinese food (general chicken and almost a whole large thing of pork fried rice) and it happened again today (very mild but enough to notice that it was coming) and last night before bed i had a mcdonalds angus burger meal, then 2 pizzas, 2 waffles and a big soft pretzel. So the only thing i can think is causing it is i am not drinking enough water and its leaving me crammped up or it has to do something with me eating loads of carbs before bed. I've been drinking alot of water today and when i woke up my first pee was pretty yellow but all the ones after that have been clear and after i drink a bottle of water i pee about 5 mins later which leads me to believe im hydrated. Any ideas? This is really a pain! |

I had something similiar a few months ago, called to Doc for suggestions and he asked how much milk I was drinking a day. I was at about a gallon, he said that too much milk or dairy products can cause it. I cut back, and have not had the problem since. I seemed like a strange connection, but he knew immediately what I was talking about.
And just for clarification, I was also gorging at the same time I was drinking the milk.

hmmm, havent been drinking milk but i think it might have something to do with the gorging. I will have to try and fight the urge at night i guess, lol. Do you think it could have anything to do with alot of sodium? I eat tons of fast food and i know its loaded with salt....

I don't know how sodium would effect cramping, but I remember that sodium helps our cells retain water, obviously too much is bad... So I do not know if this would cause cramping or help prevent it. It might be a good questions to run by a nutritionist. Good luck

How much do you weigh Brian and how much water do you drink a day? With training I would hope your drinking at least a gallon a day at the min. Im not sure about the sodium, but if that can be a cause, water will help flush it out or even you out. Make sure your getting some potassium also if it does not cease. Watermelon and potatoes contain a fair amount of potassium its a cheap supplement also.
