we have a lot of marines and people from toys for tots coming as well as a lot of support coming from the community to come and watch, should be a fun event, but even better is it looks like we should collect a lot of toys for the kids

some more write up...

What a great day Saturday was. With the venue we had I was hoping for about 10-20 competitors to compete in Strongmen Support Santa. We had 14 competitors on the day and 14 of the top competitors from the east coast. I just wanted to recap and go through some of the highlights from each event.

1st event - Log Press - clean and press each rep. Alex Truman knocked out 10 reps with the 225lb log for the LW's and Mike Jenkins got 10 reps as well with the 275lb log for the HW's.

2nd event - Crucifix hold - Mike Beyers held 20lbs in each hand for an amazing 1:14. Mary Jacobson held 15lbs in each hand for 43 seconds. Johnathan Pietrolaj held 25lbs in each hand for 1:02 for the HW's.

3rd event - Farmer's hold - For the LW's this was a close event. 5 out of the 6 LW's held the 250lb farmers for over 1 min of time. Mike Beyers again won this event with a time of 1:06. Mike Jenkins won the HW's with a time of 1:01. The HW's held 300lbs a hand for the farmers.

4th event - max partial deadlift - By far my favorite event to judge and watch for that matter of the day. Alex Truman pulled 700lbs for the LW's. For the HW's both Lou Costa and Steve Flitcraft pulled an amazing 800lbs and both looked like they could have went for more! Mary Jacobson pulled an incredible 400lbs as well for the women!

5th event - stone to 44" platform for reps - decided to use the 280 stone for both LW and HW divisions. Stone ended up getting a workout by the end of the day, will have to look into resealing it most likely, but still did it's job.

We ended up collecting 40 toys for the Toys for Tots. 5 Marines came dressed up in their dress blues to support the contest. We will definitely be holding the event next year and try to get even more toys for the local kids. Thank you everyone for coming to help, compete, or just support the cause. I hope everyone has a blessed holiday.
