Today I decided to "squat more" so I did front squats:
315 x 2 paused reps
365 x 2 paused reps
405 x 1

Then decided on the spot to do a 20 rep squat workout
365 x 20

I lost my balance on #19 and had to take a few steps to regain. All I kept thinking about was that video circulating of Jesse hitting 405 x 20. It felt AWESOME to finally hit that 20th rep!!!!

So far on front squats I can only hit 155x20. We'll see if I can get it up to 165 or 175 for 20 by year's end.

Best squat for me was off of a 15.5" box, which is around 2" below parallel for me. This was in the summer when I was trying out some Westside style training to get my numbers up. I hit 370lbs which was almost double my bodyweight (I weight ~195lbs at the time) in a belt. I tried 375lbs but as I sat on the box I sort of deflated and got pinned. The 370 went up in not too much bother but the core just wasn't strong enough for 375lbs.

The goal for summer was 180kg/396lbs but in spring I had too much time off, due to life situations. I remember late last year when I just started lifting that I couldn't even imagine me squatting over three plates, ever. One plate felt heavy enough!

But I just kept squattin' and the weights kept getting more and more. Hopefully by this time next year I'll have a five plate squat, and be a lot bigger as well. Haven't lifted in a few months since I've been ill so I don't want to set any sort term number targets because I have no idea how much I've lost.

Some guys you just know are going to be good. I could care less about any of our visiters current state of physical prowess. in order to be strong one must first be in possession of the proper constitution. You want to be strong? be like Patrick. No excuses. No limitations. get it done. work.
